I happened to buy two Apple strudels in one week and my friend brought me this 3rd giant apple rugalah strudel as a house-gift upon his arrival. It was by far the best of all three. Really thin crust, fresh! walnuts and super tasty.

The single best bagels that I know of in the Philadelphia area, and really the only that I would consider "true NY style bagels." Dense as anything. And if you like dense bagels, this is the place to go, and the real stuff - what I imagine 100 years ago all bagels were like, in terms of density. The apple cake is also particularly delicious. Very good challah. The service is very friendly, and very efficient. I used to pick up things on the way to work in the morning, when I worked nearby, and you can get in and out rather fast, which counts by me. Some of the smaller individual pastries are a bit sweet for my personal taste. I am not crazy about the Hamentaschen, bc they also tend to be a tad overly sweet, and the texture of these could be a bit moister, ideally. All in all, though, this is a place worth coming to from even the far reaches of the Philadelphia area if you have yet to try their bagels. They are on another plane from the typical bagel of the 21rst century, at least for Philadelphia.

The best bagels in cheltenham. The baked goods are amazing and the cookies are prime. Get there early to scoop up the goods before the rush gets there!

This place by the Elkins Park train station kind of across the street from the ex bank now antiques store is unusual. They are 100% kosher and close for sabbath. They serve no meat and I believe their baked goods do not use dairy (might be wrong) They do great bagels - chewy and each one a unique hand made shape. You get some tongs and a bag and pick your own! They also do nice breads, just wonderful cookies, and some delicious cakes. It's worth the trip - better then Fil a Bagel I think, but no goodies for sale with the bagels like creem cheese I guess due to kosher laws. Worth a trip. No credit cards. Down in a 1/2 basement, not wheelchair accessable.

Best. Bagels. Anywhere. I grew up in Philly and now live in NYC. These traditional, hand-made, crusty, chewy, flavorful delights are the real thing, and they're better than anything in NYC. I make it a point to stock up whenever I visit family and friends in Philly. Too bad they don't do mail order (hell, they don't even have a website!). The challah is also excellent, as are the rugelach and other pastries.

As much as I would love to like this place I've came to a realization that I don't. For one not everything is made daily. You can easily tell some stuff have been sitting there for some time. They are also extremely over priced. I bought a small pastry and a small piece of raisin cake. Came out to over 7 bucks! There Khalas aren't bad though at 3.50. Those I can tell are made fresh. The rest of the stuff....uhhhh.

Great place for bagels. One of the absolute best! No puffy, air bagels, but good, chewy ones.

This place makes the *best* challah. End of story. It's light, fluffy, and slightly sweet and comes in three varieties: plain, raisin, and whole wheat. I could easily eat an entire loaf by myself in one sitting. I've only had their bagels once, but they were good, albeit very chewy (my jaw got a workout!). I cannot wait to try their other pastries. Their strudel looks divine.

Noting in Central Jersey can compare to the bagels coming out of Rolings. Real NY style that is hard to find even in NY these days. Luck me that my in-laws live a few blocks away. Come early and get them hot. No two look the same.

This kosher bakery in a kind of half basement near the Elkins Park train station is really cute and the staff is always friendly. They are small and dairy free but have a wonderful and very fresh selection of rustic breads, pies, cookies, danish and muffins. They have this thing, like a dense cake log, with some kind of "cream" on top and then drenched in this soft, rich, thick chocolate coating that is crazy good if you feel like saying - "calories be damned!" (which I say in my life way too often *sigh*) But the real stars here are their amazing, unique, hand made bagels. I have never seen any like them, the shapes are not uniform and they are sort of flatish and really crispy and chewy and so scrumptious toasted. I'd give them a four on most of their products but a big five on the bagels. I can never decide between here and Fill A Bagel for which are my most favorite bagels in the whole wide world - both are so good in different ways.

This bakery is a hard find, but they offer the best bagels around Philly. The bagels are soft on the inside and crisp on the outside. Call them ahead of time and you can arrange catering for an meeting/event. Totally beats Manhattan Bagels and Dunkin Donuts.

I'm not the biggest fan of their bagels like everyone else is, but rolling's challah is hands down the best around. Really soft and chewy, always a treat. Friday's are usually busy at the bakery, don't be surprised if there is a line, and if you don't show up early enough there is a chance they may be out of challah or a pastry you had your mind set on.

You want bagels? You like Challah bread? Come here. The first time I came here I met Israel and when he found out it was my first time there, he offered a free bagel if and only if I agreed to take a bite out of it right then and there. The man is rightfully proud of his handiwork. Just so happens warm loaves of challah bread were coming out of the oven so I got one of those too. If you like cream cheese, you're gonna have to make an extra stop somewhere else to get some- they don't sell it here.

Enough good things cannot be said about the quality of goods in this bakery. People say that they have the best bagels and breads in Philadelphia, true NY style, etc. Rollings has their own style, and the bagels and bread are the best I've ever had anywhere. Forget NY and Philly, if this is the taste of Elkins Park. They don't have condiments, but you can stroll across the street to get some at the co-op. The co-op also has fantastic chopped liver. Bagels from Rollins, and chopped liver from across the street, is an absolute heavenly morning.

They make a really good bagel - hard on the outside and chewy on the inside - be prepared for some sore jaw muscles if you're not prepared! The only thing that surprised me about this place (maybe because they're more a bakery than pure bagel shop) was that they don't sell any spreads/locks. But bring it home, cut it, toast it, and pair it with your favorite spread and you will understand why everybody says they have the best bagels. my fav: everything bagel.

I'd walk a mile for their bagels and I just did! Been going there since the were on N 5th st. near Cheltenham Ave. A nice Sunday morning walk now to the new location( a bit tricky to find) across from the Elkins Park Train station. It's in the bottom of a house. Really tiny; more than three people and it's crowded. As far as I know thet are the ONLY ones in the Philly area that make a REAL bagel.Chewy. crisp on outside, soft within. Be prepared for a jaw workout, It's a good thing though. They are the best. No two are identical. You get to choose your own. They also have bialys and whole wheat varieties.Their breads are good too; especially the challah. Love the cinnamon buns, muffins and pies as well.. They are Kosher and close early on Fri. and all day Sat. I have tried lots of bagels and no place comes close to these. Not even the gourmet "Montreal style" @ Spread($2 for a bagel is too much. sorry).

No substitute for the perfect bagel. Perfect bagels here. Average prices and good selection of standard bakery items that put other local bakeries to shame. No comparison.

A treasure. Best bagels ANYWHERE. Not just in Philly, best ANYWHERE. New York, meh, Montreal, feh, Elkins Park! EPFL! Crunchy-crusted bagels with moist, airy interior. Cloudlike Challah. Perfect cookies and other little treats, and never a doubt about their commitment to their craft and community. Just about the greatest bakery ever.

If you are looking for delectable baked goods that are kosher-parve, look no further. Rolings has been our go-to kosher bakery for the past 15 years. Everything they offer is fresh and mouth-wateringly delicious. Among our favorites are the rugelachs, Jewish apple cake and the best challah we've ever tasted!
